Jared studied public relations and history at Harding University and graduated in December of 2008. Jared has worked with Harding’s newspaper the Bison as the opinions editor, the American Red Cross as a marketing intern, Coleman’s Office Supplies as a delivery truck driver, and County Wide Abstract and Title Co. Inc. as a clerk. Jared has been president and a delegate for Harding’s chapter of College Democrats. Jared has also served as a staff writer for Harding’s yearbook, the Petit Jean and Harding’s newspaper, the Bison.
Over the summer of 2007, Jared traveled through Europe with Harding’s art department in France, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech. Republic, Hungary, Austria, and Rome. At Harding, Jared is also a member of the honor’s college and is on the dean’s list.
While in high school, Jared traveled overseas three times on mission trips to Hawaii, the Republic of Kiribati, Vanuatu, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Australia. Jared was a member of the speech and debate team in high school, and competed at the state level in extemporaneous speaking as well as editing his high school yearbook.
