Pooja K. Agarwal is currently pursuing a career in educationally relevant research and policy. She graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, MO in 2005 with B.A.s in Elementary Education (with Teaching Certification) and Cognitive Neuroscience. As an advocate for a reliable, research-based education system, Pooja has conducted learning and memory research, presented at national conferences, published in academic journals and educational magazines, and developed and taught hands-on curriculum for K-12 students.
While pursuing her interests in learning and memory as an undergraduate, both in laboratory and applied settings, Pooja received the Harry S. Truman Scholarship, in addition to numerous undergraduate research awards. She interned at the U.S. Department of Education twice: at the Institute of Education Sciences in 2006 and at the Office of Educational Technology in 2003.
While in graduate school studying Cognitive Psychology at Washington University in St. Louis, Pooja serves as Research Coordinator for a grant from the Institute of Education Sciences, conducting learning and memory research at a local middle school. She was awarded the prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and served as a Summer Fellow in Education Policy at the College Board. Pooja is also a proud graduate of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy.
