Drs Caroline Sullivan and John Bromley interviewed by Puerto Rican film crew for documentary on water and poverty in Africa.

08/07/0808 July 2008 - Dr Caroline Sullivan and Dr John Bromley (Oxford Centre for Water Research) were recently interviewed by a film crew from Puerto Rico for a documentary on water and poverty in Africa. This documentary is recording the story of how children in Puerto Rico have been raising money to buy water purification equipment for children in Kenya. The project, H2O (Help to Others) was initiated by the children themselves after they were shown a programme about water shortages in Africa, and it has escalated as a result of their successful funding drive in Puerto Rico. This is an interesting example of a 'south-south' initiative, and various water professionals and scientists have been included to provide scientific support for the programme.
