At The University of Tennessee, Knoxville Shelly began studying architecture but soon realized that her creativity could be better expressed through graphic design. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Her roots in architecture and print design have influenced her design style by giving a strong desire for order, structure, and simplicity and have helped her to excel at adapting classic graphic design principles to standards-based web design.

Shelly is fascinated by the internet and current technologies. Creating a design in Illustrator and Photoshop and then recreating it with code is infinitely interesting and exciting to her. She can often be found reading design blogs, books, and manuals! Geeky? Maybe a little.
